what i bring to the table
What do I bring to the table? A big bowl of Kyndal! What exactly does that entail? Well, I do not have athletic skill or musical talents. I cannot create a masterpiece by the click of the mouse or the swish of a brush. John McKnight’s philosophy says to focus on gifts, rather than deficiencies. Finding what people can do, rather than what they cannot do creates community. So what are my gifts? Well I consider my positive attitude and optimistic outlook on life an important one. Attitude is everything. How you perceive something will determine how you respond to it. No matter the circumstance, I try to see the good in the situation. I try to laugh through the tears, smile through the obstacles. It does get tough, but the constant reminder that everything happens for a reason keeps me focused. That quote not only has proven itself true too many times, but it is found in the bible. Romans 8:28 "All things work together for good to them that love the Lord, to them who are called according to God's purpose". Another thing I bring to the table is my love of God, my faith, and my prayers for others. My faith is my motivation and reward. It has given me hope, peace, and a lifestyle to live by. It has shown me how to love others. I bring lots of love to the table. I am a big hugger and I genuinely care about others. I have often been called the mother of the group because I care so much and show so much concern, that it is shown through my actions and words. Those feelings allow me to bring a sense of openness and acceptability to the table. When people feel like someone is listening and truly cares, they are more willing to open up and contribute. Other skills I attain are organization, direction, and ability to think outside the box.
